General information

Fees are agreed individually for each case. With a few exceptions, an assignment confirmation will be prepared for each assignment. The following is only indicative for assignments in consumer matters. Fees will be determined in accordance with the rules of the Norwegian Bar and Law Society Regulations, based on an hourly rate varying between NOK 1,650 and NOK 4,500 incl. VAT, and in such a way that when determining the fee, consideration will also be given to the degree of difficulty, scope and importance of the case for the client. Otherwise, the specific fee agreements will vary according to the nature of the assignment.

Free legal aid

In some areas of law, such as, but not limited to, family law, inheritance law, probate law and labour law, it is possible to apply for free legal aid at public expense against payment of a deductible, if the client's gross annual income is NOK 350,000 or less for singles, and NOK 540,000 or less for cohabitants/spouses, when the client also has no more than NOK 150,000 in gross assets. The lawyer will provide information about the scheme and ensure that an application is made if the conditions are considered to be met.

Insurance cover

Many insurance contracts contain a legal expenses insurance scheme, which in some areas of law, when a dispute has arisen with an opposing party, can help to cover part of the client's own expenses for a lawyer and costs in connection with the case. The lawyer will provide information about the scheme, and in cases where there are grounds for this, by agreement with the client, may apply to the insurance company for insurance cover.
